First raspberry of the season

I didn’t take a photo of it, because I didn’t think it would have any flavor, or be worth mentioning, but I collected a single raspberry from the plant, perfectly ripe, and it was delicious. It had a lasting flavor. I honestly have not thought much at all of raspberries as in stores they just taste like a watery fruit with no sweetness. However, this one changed my mind and got me excited about raspberries. They seem to be an elegant fruit.

Things in the yard are growing somewhat slowly. I don’t have a watering system set up, and that is something I need to address to save time and increase yield.

I think I have finally found a spot in the yard for the apricot tree: next to the raised bed of strawberries. I will attempt to espalier it next season after it puts down roots.

Speaking of roots, some of the willow logs I left undisturbed have begun to show sprouts and roots! Planting logs would be a great way to put a forest in a field.
