It was a hot Saturday with lots of sun, so I put the last raised bed together, from the cedar I bought back in April. Having made two already, the third took me all of 20 minutes.
However, I created a problem for myself a few weeks ago: I put the brush pile alongside the shed to dry the leaves (and to stop mice from making homes in the leaves), and now that I needed compost, the new priority for the day became “Take care of the brush pile.”
I put in some energy, rolled in a few logs, and put the bigger willow pieces to work to create a natural raised platform which will become The Wood Pile.
I repaired the hose and gave the garden a good watering.
For the remainder of the day, my wife and I went for a hike. In the evening, I put some of the brush to use.
