Tonight I strung up some supports for the tomatoes in the “walking garden.” This garden is simply a layer of grass clippings with six inches of compost on top. I skipped the carboard phase of the bed construction this time around.
I found two stakes in the shed, and a piece of PVC; I ended up using the PVC to create holes in the ground and I used cut branches as supports.
I applied this technique to the bigger tomatoes in the official raised bed. One of them has small tomatoes developing!
I topped off the bed at the rest of the L-shape here in the first corner of the walking garden with more transplants that had been sitting around the yard, waiting for a home.
