The primary vegetable bed gets a great amount of sun, and then the plants can rest in the shade. The kale have smothered the cabbage. Not sure I am going to get any decent cabbage this season. The tomatoes at the far end are doing great. They are all different varieties. Can’t tell how the potatoes in the center are doing.
Tomatoes are coming along very well. They are growing all over the place and they don’t all stay up on the string lines. I probably should have gotten tomato cages early on. I have pruned these plants a lot so they don’t smother each other’s light.
Lawn damage update
Word on the vine is September is the time of year to seed the lawn. All that’s grown here since I seeded are clover and alfalfa (which I purposely co-seeded with the grass). No new grass has appeared. The clover are taking very well, which is good, as I plan to convert some of this space to a winter hothouse.
