Finally, through digital networking, I was able to locate someone in the area with a huge freshly cut pile of logs from a black locust tree. After two trips in my little VW Beetle, I hauled all this in:
I am going to distribute these in strategic piles, where the elevation is the lowest and where water gathers easily. Those will make good spots for small beds. I am going to use them in other places to delay rainwater and catch debris in general to create small fertility spots. All the plants, grasses, etc, in the yard do so much better when they’re next to pieces of wood.
