I don’t use my front door all that much. So a spider set up camp.
I had pizza delivered the night before, and the delivery guy pointed out the spider. The next morning I saw the postal van pull up, but didn’t hear any mail come through the slot.
I went out and the postal worker came up and told me he thought the place was abandoned because there was a big spider blocking the door.
After he left I tried clearing out the web. The filaments were very strong, and took some effort to break.
I felt quite bad having to break up this beautiful web. It was a blocker for interacting with visitors. I wonder if the spider had encountered good food in the area, or if it was on its first venture and chose the porch as its domain.
Almost perfect timing for Halloween!
